What changes in 9:16
Switch the format to 9:16 and every scene re-composes: the picture moves above the title, titles get larger, and captions sit in the lower third — above the platform's like and comment buttons but clear of the bottom caption bar. Nothing is cropped from a landscape version; it is laid out natively for a phone.
The short-form formula
- Hook (0–2s): a bold claim or question as the first title. Three to five words.
- Value (2–25s): two to four quick scenes, one idea each.
- Payoff + CTA (last 3–5s): the answer, then “follow for more”.
Keep scenes short — one sentence each — so the picture changes every two to four seconds.
Captions are not optional
Most short-form video starts muted. Turn on word-by-word captions (they're on by default in 9:16) so the message lands without sound. Highlight one word per title with *stars* for an extra visual beat.
Styles that stop the scroll
- Neon Night — glowing lines and pink captions on black; maximum contrast.
- Pop Motion — saturated gradients and bouncy word pops.
- Paper Craft — warm and tactile, great for lifestyle and recipes.
